The Story of John Anlezark & Mary Ann Doyle - 1812 - 1889
John Anlezark, the son of pioneers Thomas Ainsworth Anlezark, a heroic figure at the Battle of Vinegar Hill, and Ann Starmer, forged a life of significance. He married Mary Ann, the daughter of Patrick Doyle, who was convicted in his youth, and Ann (Nancy) Bull, the granddaughter of James Bull, a free settler in the Rum Corps. Together, John and Mary Ann established their married life in Liverpool, contributing to the community around them. Later, John's second marriage to Catherine Morrisey marked a new chapter, as they became pioneers of the Marulan district. Their legacy reflects the spirit of resilience and determination that characterised early settlers, leaving an indelible mark on the regions they helped to develop as early settlers.
